Thank you for your order and this feedback. We regret your dissatisfaction.
When orders are placed we apply a pre-authorization or a lien on your account but not one penny goes from your account to ours. Only when we ship the products do we charge the card. However it seems that you may have used a debit card if so, depending on your bank’s policies it is possible the bank took the amount of the lien and reserved it for us, even though they did not transfer it to us.
We handle many transactions every day and few involve back ordered items and debit cards. If the problem you describe were widespread we’d have been alerted to by other customers. I do not have records of getting calls or emails of this nature before so I have to believe this is an issue of your bank’s handling of what should have been a straightforward transaction.
In regards to the "bait and switch", as had been explained to you on the phone, at the time your order was placed we had a number of refurbished machines in stock, however, as this is a first-come-first-serve business there were people who ordered it before you and we simply ran out of stock. In other situations we would simply order replenishments to fulfill the order, however, being that this is a refurbished item we can only obtain them when available. We then called to offer an alternative, which incidentally was offered at cost in order to perhaps fill your printing needs.

"Watch out for bait and switch. They had already charged my credit card and then called me to tell me the refurb wasn't available but they did have the newer one for a higher price. Aggravating. Won't use them again."
