"I spoke with a gentleman named Paul who helped me match the correct cable and map to my plotter since I could not find reliable information at the manuf. site. The items showed up 3 days later and work perfectly. I will be shopping here again when I need more gps products"

"Seller advertised products at lower prices than they were willing to sell them at. This resulted in them canceling my order, but offering to re-invoice me at an inflated price. The other item was listed as in-stock, but was back-ordered for months.

Buyer-beware."

“This particular item had just changed in price and was an item that dropships direct. If the manuf. raises the price then we also have to in order to prevent a loss. Its like the airline industry where prices rapidly change from day to day. There may also be an occasional error in stock status or price. There are humans behind those numbers. We immediately contact the buyer by phone in this rare instance. We send an email if the phone is not answered. If an item is Ever backordered for Months then we have no way of knowing that in advance. Manuf. can often give us an ETA that is wrong and we have no control over this. We do not benefit from backorders and want items to ship sooner than later to close out the sale and make the customer happy. There are unexpected delays and we never obligate a customer to stay with a backorder. It is completely optional up until it ships. If you ever suspect an old price or want to verify stock status please call us using the Contact Us page”

"Thanks cascade GPS for the excellent service . I dealt with Paul Via email a couple of times to assist with prices on a furuno sounder with a few different transducers with quick response . The unit was shipped to me in Australia and arrived 5 days later. Now for the GPS unit . Cheers Brendan"

"The customer service and prices from this store are incredible. I pre-ordered a Delorme PN-60W and by the same evening I received an email from the company verifying with me that I knew I was pre-ordering rather than purchasing an item in stock and gave me an updated date/time when they expected to have the item in stock. They then went on to explain to me that I may want to cancel and reorder my product and use a different payment type so the charge wouldn't be posted at the time of order, but rather at the time of shipment. I would highly recommend these guys!"

"I ordered a HDS7 unit from cascade and they did not have the units in stock. I recieved an email a day after ordering the unit asking if I wanted to be on the pre order list, and the units would be in stock anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, my answer.....No please refund my money. I was told my card was not charged by them yet but google checkout had already charged my card and I would have to wait a week for funds to clear. Now I have to wait an extra week to order another unit from a reputable dealer and another week for delivery....This is the last time I try to save a few bucks by ordering from some garage electronics dealer. YOU SHOULDNT SELL ITEMS THAT ARE NOT IN STOCK, at least you should have a disclaimer stating the model is not in stock and have an option for pre order. This is a Shade Tree Company, buy at your own risk.

**edit** Cascade did have exelent comunication, I will give them that. But I thinkif a retailer is selling something he/she knows is out of stock or is back ordered it should state so on either the page the product is on or at the shopping cart. Or atleast have a note that the consumer should call ahead of time on certain items(such as lowrance/navico products since they are hard to get right now). It is you responsibility to inform the customer of these things, it would save time and headachs like these."

“Pardon me, but calling our outfit a Shade Tree is a direct insult to us. Customers are welcome to call the phone number posted on every page of our website. We answer and will tell you if an item is backordered. You will get a response the same day if the lines are busy. This customer suggests that a small business has no place in our economy and large, multi-national corporations should rule the electronics market. I am sorry, but small family businesses are the backbone of our nation. Go shop at Wal-mart if you disagree. We strive to keep an accurate database but we are human and have plenty of errors. This customer was contacted immediately after ordering and told of the backorder and we gave him the opportunity to cancel and he did. We voided the payment and the order so he could look elsewhere. There was no delay and no money kept on our end. We have plenty of satisfied customers. If you want the lowest price on something; yes, you might have to wait an extra week or so on certain popular items. If it is a Lowrance product, as in this case, it is our most popular line and the manuf. is always behind on orders). If you need something yesterday, then I suggest always calling or emailing a merchant; and if they don't have a phone number (AMAZON) then it is probably best to avoid. He says his card was charged but he choose google checkout as a payment. Google checkout and paypal are 3rd party payment processors and they will sit on your authorization for a few days, even after the merchant hits the refund or cancel button. If you pay directly with a credit card, regular checkout, the credit back to your account is a little faster. If you are concerned about hitting your credit limit, make sure you have enough room on the card for at least 2 of the same transactions because banks will always hold onto the funds for a few days before releasing the credit. So you will need the additional credit to shop elsewhere during the short credit delay. Banks love to take money out but are slow to return. This is another reason to contact a merchant before ordering, just in case they are backordered. Online inventories are known to be highly inaccurate. ”

"I was very impressed with the way that Cascade GPS handled the cancellation of a pre-ordered item. I cannot comment on the actual products of the company, but the service was great. The day that I ordered my product (Lowrance XOG GPS), I received both an email and a phone call from Paul saying that the item wasn't in stock. I was offered the option to pre-order the item, and I decided to go with that option.

The GPS was supposed to be a birthday present for my fiance, and he decided that he didn't want to wait for the GPS to come in, so we are going with another option. I called and emailed the store, and the same day, my credit card was refunded.

I will definitely consider Cascade GPS the next time that I need to buy a GPS unit."

"I have purchased two Garmin 4212's plus sonar and radar. Paul has been a pleasure to work with. I made some mistakes with my order and Paul promply contacted me and resolved the situation. Worked with me to accomodate drop shipment to the boat yard I was having the work done at. Best price, best service - no brainer"

"I had a great buying experience at Cascade GPS. I ordered a Lowrance LCX-28c from them when web research showed they had the lowest price and I found only good ratings. Ordering was painless and the unit arrived on time and was exactly what I ordered. I did find however, that the mapping chip was not the exact chip I expected, so I called Cascade. I immediately reached a real person who was knowledgable about the issue. When we found that they did not have the chip I wanted in stock, he sent me a return number the same day, and my Paypal account was credited the full amount on the day they received the chip. They also followed up with Lowrance and emailed me the results of that conversation the following morning. Their response was especially impressive since the problem was probably my fault for not being more specific. I am super impressed with their customer service and they will definitely be my first choice in the future. There are lots of places on the net you can buy electronics. While low cost is important (theirs was the lowest I found), it is more important to buy from someone who is knowledgable and who corrects problems cheerfully and promptly. Thank you Cascade for an excellent shopping experience. "

"This is a great place to buy GPS gear!

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 770 at a spectacular price. The item shipped much faster than I expected, I received e-mails telling me what the status was throughout the process, and I really wish the site had more than just GPS and marine merchandise, because I would really love to buy more stuff from this store.

It was really an A++ experience that I wish all online stores would take a lesson from and try to emulate this store's business model. I am definitely a happy customer. Thanks guys!

"I ordered the newly released Garmin Nuvi 760 from Cascade GPS. They had it in stock and the price was amazing. Having never heard of the company I checked resellerratings first. I can confirm that this company is first rate. Item shipped same day with email and tracking number. I had hesitated to order because they are listed as being on the west coast but they shipped my order from NJ and it arrived in 2 days despite standard UPS ground charges. I'm a happy camper..."
