"1 of the worst online order experience!
After 7 days placing order I got nothing back from oakley.com, so I emailed them, no response, phoned them, says my order take 5 weeks to delivery, WTF! and they say I cant cancel it neither. I ordered that for my ipad, but now I got my ipad made and shipped to me in 3 days all the way from china and they can't make a bag in 5 weeks? Never order from oakley.com again!"

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"This is yet another example of where people continue about their business when they have a good sales experience but take the time to complain to anyone who will listen when something goes wrong. Oakley deserves a higher rating than they have on RR. I placed my order and it was shipped out the next day. An order confirmation and tracking info was provided via email. Everything was very professional. Could not have been better."

"Ordered Oakley's on-line to be delivered before Christmas. Went on the site on the 24th as we had not received them and as everyone on this site says, they are now back ordered. Call Oakley and they are on vacation until Jan 3rd. Wow! Will cancel the order and never buy Oakley's again!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I cannot seem to find a pair of Oakley's that I really like in any store, so I finally went on their website to order the style and color I want. I know they make a nice pair of sunglasses, I've had a pair before. So I order a pair of Minute 2.0 sunglasses in black with black iridium lenses. They send a confirmation email. Great. 2 days later they send an email this lens is on backorder and they have no idea when it will be in, nor do they provide an estimate. Basically, they let you order and pay for items they know they do not have and then send you an email saying you can call and cancel your order or just wait until you receive it someday. I ordered these 6 weeks before a cruise and planned on having them. From what I've heard about other custom orders, I may never receive them and if I do, summer and my cruise will be long gone. Should I just cancel and buy another brand? Oakley clearly does not have the best customer service."

"YES!!! Do you know how good it feels to see I'm not alone in this nightmare Oakley experience? I was a Tifosi cyclist, decided to bite the bullet on Radar's for this summer season - same situation as others have said - they took $246 dollar order for a product they KNEW they didn't have in stock and did not tell me about it at the point of purchase. Cannot get a straight answer from anyone there on when it will be in, though they too have led me astray with an ETA that came and went in early August. Store refers me to corporate, corporate refers me to store. Theives!!!!! I've placed a complaint with the BBB and will be consulting my attorney.

I Purchased pair of Radar's from Chicago WaterTower store on 6/16 (they built them partially custom in-store). When I tried on before leaving they were crooked on my face. After inspection, they realized the lens was defective, so they scoured the store for the same lens and started taking one off a floor model. I told them I did not want a floor model - they seemed put out (which is preposterous - for $200+, I'm going to by something that's been sitting as a floor model in Oakley's Michigan Ave store??).

Then they placed a hold for similar lens in the Schaumburg store and told me they'd have it shipped to them and call me when it was in. I never received a call and after two weeks I called them and they said they forgot to facilitate with Schaumburg. Obviously losing patience, I drove to Schaumburg myself and, in a hurry with two kids, picked up the lens. When I got home, I tried on and they too were crooked. So i took THAT lens back to Woodfield mall, they inspected and saw that it TOO was defective. at that point, they directed me to custom order a pair through them. I did, on 7/24. they told me 1-2 weeks when i ordered/they took my 246 dollars. next day i get a call from them telling me my frame is on back order and will be in at a later date. then i call back 2 weeks later and they tell me 8/12 is the ETA. I call on 8/13 and they tell me the part is in, the order is being built and unit will be in week of 8/22. On 8/22 I call to get status and store tells me part is NOT in and they don’t know when it will be. Calling Oakley’s 1 800 customer care line in complete waste of time – they refer me to the store. When I call the store they refer me to Oakley corp. WHO IS IN CHARGE OF RESOLVING THIS CUSTOMER’S ISSUE??? The people at the store are completely unengaged in my dilemma and are not helpful, won’t return my phone calls and will not connect me with a store manager to help resolve.

Oakley took my money, has not provided a product/service in return and will not address straightforward inquiries into order status. AND, the store hinted this morning that a refund might not be possible given this was a custom order. This is THEFT. I filed a complaint against Oakley Incorporated with the BBB this morning."

"I ordered a pair of custom GasCan Oakley sunglasses on July 9th 2011. The order was the GasCans in the colour I want as well as a soft shell case, over $200. 15 business days after I ordered them I called customer support to see what was happening. I was told the frames were on back-order and that they would be shipped out on August 18th, 29 business days after I ordered them (39 total days). It is now August 18th and there has been no update. I ordered these sunglasses so I would be able to wear them durring the summer, when I need them and now I am fearful that I will not get them in time. I am extremely dissappointed in the customer care recieved from Oakley. They really need to step it up and either not let you order back-ordered items, tell you that it will take a while when ordering a back-ordered item, or at least get the items in earlier. I just don't get how they can know that they do not have this type of frame for over a month and not try to get any earlier."

"I love oakley sunglasses but their website is bullshit due to backordered. IF YOU DONT HAVE IT, DONT ADVERTISED IT ONLINE. I recently ordered frogskin and holbrook sunglasses to be shipped within 5-7 days and it turned out to be backordered, wtf. So i called their customer service and all they said was "their famous sunglasses so it wont be for another weeks or months"...are you serious? All im saying is, update your site if you dont have it. Sorry, thanks."

"WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN! I just had a terrible experience with Oakley. I ordered a pair of goggles over a week before Christmas, was offered 2 day shipping which would allow them to arrive on Christmas. My credit card was billed and no goggles arrived on Christmas. I just called today (Dec 27) and they informed me that they are now backordered and probably will not come in again. However, 10 days AFTER placing my order, my credit card charge is still there and they cancelled the order but failed to credit my account upon calling. There are other places from which I could have ordered these goggles BEFORE Christmas had I been informed that they were unavailable. Three pieces of advise to Oakley:
- if you have a backordered item, don't let us order it without clearly stating
- do not charge a credit card until you are ready to ship the item
- do not send an order confirmation if you have no intention of fulfilling it

"Oakley seems to think it's ok to take an order, and put it on backorder without contacting the customer. Then, when you do the research to find out what's going on, they tell you to call instead of just emailing the facts to you.

When you call, after being on hold for 20 minutes, you find out that they are not going to fill your order because they ran out of stock on three pairs of shoes in three different sizes. On top of that, they weren't going to inform you because they only inform you when it ships, and it isn't ever going to ship.

After spending $1000's on Oakley in my life, I'm officially done with them."

"So I ordered a pair of Oakley's new, advertised Antix sunglasses to be custom made and delivered to me for around $200. I ordered them online on july 12, no special laser engraving or extra accessories, just 1 pair of glasses in the colors i chose. It is now august 21, nearly 40 days later and i have no sunglasses yet. I am severely dissappointed and angry with the utter neglect for customer service that I am experiencing. They never e-mailed me or anything for 1 month following my order until eventually i had to ATTEMPT to contact them. First I called, was on hold for 30 minutes then hung up, multiple times with nobody to answer my questions. Next I sent an e-mail which went unanswered for 3 days. I then sent another, this time stronger worded e-mail which took them 3 more days to respond. I was delighted to finally get a response although the only information i got was that one of the parts may or may not have been partially back-ordered. After a few more days of silence i finally called again and waited 45 minutes to talk to someone who told me that nothing was back-ordered. He said my order would ship the next day. My order was shipped 4 days later and it is now 10 days after it was shipped with no sign of my sunglasses yet. Supposedly, they have been at a distribution center only 30 minutes from my house, for 3 days. If Oakley were a newborn baby, I would choke it to death in scolding hot water. That is my level of resentment for this company after dealing with this bull shlt."
