"I have to thank OnlineComponents for delivering. Late Thursday afternoon we needed an atypical part for critical product Demo. ASAP! Yesterday! “Immediately! If not sooner!”, of course! I looked up the manufactures part number, searched for the part through my usual sources and nothing was in stock. I kind'a expected that and it seems all too usual in this situation. I found plenty of parts in stock ready to ship at Waldom, “The Distributors, Distributor.” I called, they won’t sell to me, I’m not a distributor, then I call the manufactures salesperson, they both said, go through your usual distributors. My distributors would then ask for a quote from Waldom. Oh! Then it was mentioned, they might not be working tomorrow. Tomorrow is a holiday. A holiday! I was working on Friday and completely forgot the Holiday. To me, that means, I might get the quote Friday, or next Monday only then I could place the order. I went back to Waldom, ” found their distributor list, saw that Master Distributors was nearest to me, I checked their Website, put in the Mfr’s PN, and their site redirected me to, OnlineComponents. Frankly, my heart sank, I don’t know them, and I don’t like that many links in the chain. I held my breath and placed the order anyway, shipping overnight and on my dime, so I could get them as fast as I could. My jaw dropped, Friday morning, I had my parts! The other distributors, if they happened to be working on the Holiday, the same distributors I have accounts with, would get a quote for the “out of stock”, “not carried part.” Then promise 1-7days delivery after receiving my PO., and I knew they would pull the part from Waldom. OnlineComponents delivered within 20 hours from the time I placed my order. I had the parts ready to for my engineers and for the customer demo. Thank you, Master Distributors and OnlineComponents. "

I needed a few rather specialized components for a small project I am building. I ran across Onlinecomponents during a Google search and they indicated they had everything in stock and at a great price. (I normally buy through Digikey or Mouser - but this time my part was not a stocked item and the price would have been nearly double anyway.) So I decided to give Onlinecomponents a try...
I did a bit more research about Onlinecomponents and got quite concerned when I discovered a number of less than glowing reviews from the past about excessive shipping charges and other monkey business. So I called in to get a straight story from them - but it turned out to be a Very Pleasant Surprise!
The person I spoke with was very courteous and looked up my order right away. I mentioned my nervousness after reading comments from other people - but instead of becoming defensive or argumentative, he actually empathized with me! He also mentioned they realize this is a problem and they are working on a solution to address it with fixed shipping charges. So it turns out my total shipping charge only came out to be $10 and that included shipping via UPS and arrived on the second day.
All in all, Onlinecomponents worked out really well for me - I got my parts at a very good price, shipping charges were reasonable, delivery time was fast, customer services was great and I believe they are sincere about turning things around to improve their image. I will definitely be a return customer when I need parts for my small projects."
I ordered four cables and they shipped right away. The shipping cost was determined by the carrier (UPS)and not a high price estimate usually charged by online company's.
"horrible customer service, misquotes, ignoring of PO's, incorrect pricing, lead time and stock level on their website, errors on invoices, I could go on and on. They didn't process one of my orders but never informed me of this. When the parts were due after several months I had a difficult time getting into contact with anyone to find out why we hadn't received them. They were then very rude and tried to blame their incompetence on me. If you have a rare order that actually goes smoothly you're lucky. If not, you are in for a major ordeal trying to get it settled."
"Do NOT order at this company, they are thieves. As they will not give you an estimate on shipping costs and can charge you whatever they want after you ordered. I spent $80 for shipping half a Kilo much more than the cost of UPS. Have also invented an order and stealing the amount on my credit card. Do not respond to emails and phone call is difficult too. Bad company will not do business with them, you lose money and time."

"I purchased some Cable Channel Raceway and Connectors for a small job. They had a price per each, on the page and I ordered what I needed. Later I was contacted by phone letting me know that the price was by the foot. This made them more expensive than going to Ace Hardware. They also said that the connectors, meaning elbows and the like, were also sold by the foot. This made no sense at all so I asked her about it and she insisted. I asked her to verify this and to hold the order until she contacted me. She never called back. My card was hit for the order without adjustment, not even to what they were trying to get me to pay. No one returned my calls or emails. They never sent anything and refused to refund telling my CC company that they would issue a credit which they never did. To me this looks like a classic Bait and Switch situation which is searching for "onlinecomponents.com Bad" on Google, came up with a bunch of other issues similar to this. I would advise against trusting this company."
